Ingredients

Puff pastry:

  • 1 sheet thawed if frozen

Shredded chicken:

  • 1 cup cooked

Cheddar cheese:

  • ½ cup grated

Mozzarella cheese:

  • ½ cup shredded

Egg wash:

  • 1 egg beaten

Garlic powder:

  • ½ teaspoon

Black pepper:

  • ¼ teaspoon

Paprika:

  • ½ teaspoon

Fresh parsley:

  • 1 tablespoon chopped

Caramelized onions:

  • ¼ cup

Mushrooms:

  • ¼ cup sautéed

Dijon mustard:

  • 1 teaspoon

Instructions

Preheat Oven:

  • Set the oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure even baking.

Prepare Baking Sheet:

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.

Mix Filling:

  • In a bowl, combine shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, black pepper, paprika, and fresh parsley.
  • Stir until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Roll Out Pastry:

  • Place the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and roll it out slightly to smooth the edges.

Add Filling:

  • Spread the prepared filling in the center of the puff pastry, leaving about 1 inch of space around the edges.

Prepare Top Layer:

  • Take the second sheet of puff pastry, fold it in half, and cut evenly spaced slits before unfolding.

Cover & Seal:

  • Place the slit pastry over the filling, aligning the edges.
  • Press the edges together firmly with a fork to seal the jalousie.

Apply Egg Wash:

  • Brush the top layer with egg wash for a glossy, golden finish.

Bake the Jalousie:

  • Transfer the prepared pastry to the lined baking sheet.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and crispy.

Cool & Serve:

  • Let the jalousie cool slightly before slicing.
  • Serve warm with a side of dipping sauce or a fresh salad
